journal; im getting my masters >_< if you asked me even two months ago if id ever think about pursuing higher education, it wouldve been the easiest no of my life, but working and spending most of my day applying knowledge that ive already obtained has made me realize that im still interested in learning new things. i think its quite perfect actually, making things for five star and being useful while also getting better part-time.
i talked w my dad a bit about the whole thing, the whole thing being how i like my work and what i want to do in the future and what im capable of doing in the future and what the future might look like wo him in it. i sobbed uncontrollably for an hour over the realization of just how much he loves. i am so grateful that i can see that now. unconditional love really is the strongest thing in the world and i would say thats another huge reason for why ive decided to go back to school. we're all doing our best. on the topic of the are.na submission ive decided to do it on fb posts by my friend who is still christian. each persons relationship w religion is so interesting and id like to explore that through documents of journeys to and away (and even back) to god.

talked to my quad :3 for the first time in a v long time t_t

filled out the hawaii tech mentors form.
my fave questions to answer:
1. Describe a recent learning experience that you found exciting or valuable. Briefly describe what you learned, and how you learned it.
I learned about real-time audio processing because I wanted to create a program that automatically filtered out background music in Twitch streams since I enjoy listening to my own music. To learn about it, I browsed various resources on the internet such as Sound Forums, technical documentation from existing tools like Spleeter, and research papers on digital signal processing and machine learning for audio processing.
2. Share a recent accomplishment you're particularly proud of. (the focus of this question is not about being impressive but about understanding your motivations and sense of pride)
I started as a data entry clerk for the company I am currently at (Five Star Transportation) and transitioned to being their first software engineer after demonstrating a business need for my technical skills (invoice calculator, warehouse visualization tool).
3. Share a few sentences about your core values that influence your career. Core values are often simple, and endure through change.
Working on projects that interest me and allow me to learn new things, having a variable day-to-day, being able to work alone and without distractions at least part of each day.
4. Write about the goals that you'd like to achieve in the upcoming year
Become proficient in machine learning and apply it to my work, identify and start developing skills for landing a job as a software engineer at the NSA.
